- History of the Yacht
- The yacht was built in 1987 as a 86 foot Azimut and spent ten years in the United Kingdom. In 1996 the yacht was transported to Fort Lauderdale in the USA and in 1997 was lifted from the water to commence a major refit. For the next seven years the yacht underwent a transformation from 86 foot to 102 foot with the addition of an extra VIP cabin to the rear. This also added a lot of extra area to the rear deck and fly bridge. An extra VIP cabin was added to the front deck maintaining and improving the striking Azimut lines. Most of the internal of the yacht was refitted and new engines and running gear was also fitted. The yacht was re-launched as a new yacht in 2004. TEXAS STAR was purchased in October 2007 for the purpose of undertaking charter work in the Caribbean and for the owner's private use. Over $100,000 was spent fitting the yacht with a 16 foot tender, spare propellers, new air-conditioning, a new 30 kw generator, diving gear, fishing gear, water toys, and other necessary charter equipment. TEXAS STAR was sailed to the British Virgin Islands and set up in charter operation. She charted for approximately twelve weeks per year, providing a good income for the boat. With the owner having spent many months over the last four years travelling around the Caribbean, the time has come to sell the yacht. She has been returned to Fort Lauderdale where a mini refit has been completed and TEXAS STAR is now available for sale.
